Visual Motivation

It is time for another U Fit Blog from Coach Helen Gribble! We hope you enjoy it and, as always, comment below with any questions or insights!

I had been training for a year and had achieved all that I had wanted, regarding dropping dress sizes…I was where I wanted to be.

I now had a new goal…I wanted to look more toned. 😊

I found it difficult to think of how to motivate myself when I had never had a goal like that before. From years and years of trying to be smaller, I knew how it felt to motivate myself to get smaller. I didn't know how it felt to want to be firmer before.

I sat down with my coach and discussed how we could work together to motivate me towards my goal. We agreed that I'm quite a visual person….and that I needed something that I could see.

As I always carry my phone I thought that it would be a great idea to have something that I would see every time that I used it!

I found a picture of the body that I wanted to achieve and decided that my screen saver was the place for it.

Every day I saw the image of what I wanted to look like and over time I found that whatever I was struggling with; food, training or mindset I could look at my screen saver and remind myself of why I was pushing forwards.

I discovered that I did know how to motivate myself, even if it wasn't a goal that I was familiar with, I had to learn what worked best for me. 😊
