Training as a couple

I had always seen my health and fitness journey as something that was to be done alone, a bit like a lone wolf; my path was my own.

When I joined U Fit I wasn't only starting my journey; I was also joining my other half, who was already a member.

It was difficult in the beginning. We were both looking to make our changes and trying to 'go it alone'. As time passed we both realised that to train together and be successful together; we had to communicate more.

Both of us had to articulate when we were struggling and needed help, to support each other when it became difficult equally. On the flip side, celebrating each other's successes and taking time to appreciate hitting goals.

As a couple, we are never exactly in the same place, regarding motivation, mood or success. What we aim to do is stay in the same place when it comes to communication. That way, we are never really alone on our journey.
